King of my Heart
I remember the first time I encountered this song was on a night of worship, filled with fellowship and prayer. Every piece of the song pierced my heart, and I remember being deeply moved by the words. I have found so much comfort in this song, and the truth behind the lyrics. We are never guaranteed an easy life, but we do have the guarantee of the goodness of God. I am comforted by passages like Matthew 7:9-11, Romans 8:31-32, and Hebrews 10:23:
Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
He is a good Father that richly blesses his children. He will never leave us nor forsake us. There is nothing that could ever ever Ever separate us from his love! So it is the cry of my heart to grow closer to him every day, to become more aware of his presence, and to invite him to join me in my days.
