Victory

Victory

The first word that comes to my mind when I see this drawing is "victory." When defined, it means "the overcoming of an enemy or antagonist," or "achievement of mastery or success in a struggle or endeavor against odds or difficulties."  Looking at these definitions, my mind keeps going to Christ.  We can only ever truly achieve victory through Christ.  He has set a path before us, directs us, and is always with us. We can walk in the victory that Christ has already won!  When we face the antagonist, he is our hero; when we are pressured in every way or hedged in, we are not crushed; when we are perplexed or unsure of finding a way out, we won't be driven to despair.  If we're hunted down and persecuted, we will not be deserted to stand alone, and even if we are struck down, we will never be destroyed (2 Corinthians 4:8-9 Miriam-edited).

Similar to the journey Ordinary goes through inThe Dream Giver by Bruce Wilkinson, we will face various trials, but we are never alone!

Some verses that come to mind are Hebrews 12:1-2, Proverbs 3:5-6; 16:9, Psalm 119:105, Exodus 14:14, and Psalm 46:10...

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness, stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, looking away from all that will distract us and focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith: the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity, who for the joy of accomplishing the goal set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God, revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work.

Because of this, you can trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart, relying not on your own insight or understanding; in all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth, removing obstacles that block your way.  For a man’s mind plans his way as he journeys through life, but the Lord directs his steps and establishes them.  His word is a lamp to our feet, and a light to our paths-the Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still, and know that He is God. <3  (Miriam-paraphrased version)
