Ancient Words
Apologies for another significantly long break in posts...thankfully every day is a new chance to hit "restart," and a new chance to experience this wonderful life God has given us :) I've been blessed with over a year of maturing in my faith, as well as growing as an artist. This is the next page working backwards with my first lyrics journal, and I'm looking at it and appreciating the opportunity to reflect on this song from a new perspective.
I can't think of a more accurate description of the power of God's word! Hebrews 4:12 says, "For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart." <3
No matter how far I drift from the discipline of reading the Bible, His words have penetrated my heart, and I leave forever changed (I have hidden your word in my heart...Psalm 119:11). Even when I'm not actively seeking God, his Spirit is ever-present in my life, constantly touching and reminding me of the love my Abba has for me. The more time you spend in His word, the more it will become a part of your life, and before you know it you'll be radiating the light of Christ! So I am thankful for the simple things of life, for in those tiny, seemingly insignificant moments I get to be reminded of and experience the presence of my heavenly Dad :)
